Categories,

Film loosely based on the works and biography of Joseph Brodsky, a poet and a Nobel Prize winner. «A Cat and a Half» is the prologue to the full-feature film «A Room and a Half, or the Sentimental Journey to the Motherland» by Andrei Khrzhanovsky.

Mixed media technique is employed in this film. The present day filming of the city where the poet used to live is combined with documentaries, computer graphics, and animation based on Joseph Brodsky’s own drawings, as well as on photographs made by A. Brodsky, his father.

Film was shot with the financial support of the State Committee for Cinematography of Russian Federation.
