Education
In 1991 she graduated from the philological faculty of the Kazakh State University. In 1997 she graduated from the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors in Moscow. She studied in the studio of F. Hitruk, Yu. Norshtein, E. Nazarov and A. Khrzhanovsky (specialty – director-animator).
In 1997 she graduated from the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors and the School-Studio “SHAR” in Moscow, specializing in the director-animator. She studied in the studio of FS Khitruk, Yu. B. Norshtein, E. V. Nazarov and A. Yu. Khrzhanovsky.
 
Professional activity
In 1990-1991 she taught the history of ancient literature at the Kazakh State University.
Svetlana Filippova is engaged in easel and book graphics, lithography, animation. The author of several graphic cycles and illustrations to the parables of Manana Menabde, the tales of Lyudmila Ulitskaya, the novels of Andrey Platonov “The Pit” and “Chevengur”, to the “Dark Alleys” of Ivan Bunin, and others.

Exhibitions and contests

In 2005, for illustrations to fairy tales, Lyudmila Ulitskaya received the first prize of the Association of Graphic Artists at an exhibition of works by Moscow artists of the book.
Laureate of the All-Russian competition “Image of a book” in the nomination “Best illustrations for works for children and adolescents” for illustrations for books by L. Ulitskaya for children. In 2008 she received the “Book Man” award in the nomination “The Best Artist” (“Book Review” newspaper as part of the non-fiction intellectual literature fair) for illustrations to the novel “Chevengur” by A. Platonov.
A.Platonov’s book “Chevengur” in the series “Manuscripts” (publishing house “VITA NOVA”, artist S.Filippova) is included in the nomination “Best edition” of classical fiction (ASKI Board “BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR”).
Participated in international, Russian and Moscow exhibitions of illustrations, book graphics, animation and painting.
 
Pedagogical activity
Master classes on illustration, animation and directing at international festivals and studios, including: international festival ZubrOFFka (Poland), international festival Animacao Russa (Brazil), art school Minshar school of Art, Animation department, Tel Aviv, etc.
 
She teaches directing in the School-studio “SHAR” from 2017.
